As I near 100 posts, I’m preparing to enter Phase II of my business plan. Phase II involves increasing site traffic and beginning to monetize the site. Here’s what’s next.
First of all, I am migrating the site to WordPress. Many of the features offered by WordPress will improve website traffic, help more entrepreneurs, and increase monetization. You can preview the new website here: accountinator.wordpress.com
I’m using wordpress.com as my server host because it seems to be really easy to use.

Second, I’m not sure that advertising (AdWords, Amazon Affiliate, etc.) holds much financial promise right now, and it may actually divert this site and its audience from our mission: Do-it-yourself accounting: quick, cheap, and easy. After all, I don’t want you to come to this site to buy coffee, donate your car or buy commercial accounting software (even though I personally love to do all of these things). Rather, I want to help you understand accounting well enough to run your business better and to pay less taxes, without paying someone an arm and a leg.
Therefore, to help you learn more about accounting and personal finance, and to monetize the site, I plan to reduce the amount of advertising, and instead develop high-quality online courses, in THE ACCOUNTINATOR’S own inimitable style, about small business accounting, taxation and finance, and also about productivity and personal finance.
Not to boast, but with a PhD, and 20 years’ teaching experience (including 8 years’ online teaching), I believe that I can produce highly effective courses that will help you learn how to run your business better.
For now, the steady flow of blog posts will continue, though I’m going to reduce the schedule to five/week. And then, within a few months, I hope to have the first courses ready.
Thanks for reading. What do you think?
